Trunk-Vac is a multifunctional, hands-free, high-volume evacuation (HVE) single use aspirator tip designed to enhance aerosol control, fluid management, and soft tissue retraction during aerosol-generating dental procedures (AGPs).

Trunk-Vac is for suitably trained Dental professionals including Dentists, Hygienists, Therapists and Specialist seeking a more efficient aspirator device to help when delivering AGP treatments.

4. Is Trunk-Vac registered with the MHRA?
Yes, Trunk-Vac is registered with the MHRA and UKCA marked, meeting current UK medical device regulatory requirements.

 

5. How does Trunk-Vac improve aerosol control?
Trunk-Vac is positioned to capture aerosols and spray at source during AGP procedures, supporting modern infection control protocols and helping reduce airborne contamination within the clinicians working space.

 

6. Can Trunk-Vac be used on all patients?
Yes, Trunk-Vac is designed to be suitable for patients of all ages and sizes. Its stable inner-cheek positioning enhances comfort and control, making it ideal for those sensitive or gag reflex patients.

 

7. Is Trunk-Vac™ single-use or reusable?
Trunk-Vac is currently supplied as a single-use device, in line with cross infection control guidance recommendations.
Autoclavable versions are however under development as part of our ongoing product innovation.

 

8. Can it be used without a dental nurse or assistant?
Yes. Trunk-Vac functions hands-free, allowing clinicians to work independently when required. This is particularly valuable during times of staff shortages, or when team members are needed elsewhere in the practice.

 

9. Will trunk-Vac fit onto my pre-existing suction system?
Trunk-Vac has a built in dual-fit adaptor compatible with most standard 11mm and 16mm HVE suction systems, allowing seamless integration into most dental chairs.

 

10. How does Trunk-Vac improve workflow?
By reducing the need to constantly stop to reposition and unblock the suction tip, clear the mirror, and attend to the patient struggling with fluid buildup and sensitivity. Trunk-Vac supports smoother treatment delivery, improved efficiency, reduced chair-time, and often better treatment outcomes.

 

11. How does it benefit patient comfort?
Trunk-Vac rests securely against the inner cheek, without slipping back towards the throat or contacting teeth. This helps reduce anxiety, minimise gag reflex, reduce sensitivity and improve overall treatment comfort. The High-Volume uninterrupted fluid dynamics of Trunk-Vac ensure fluid is constantly removed, ensuring a more positive treatment experience for the patient.

 

12. Can it be used in different chair positions?
Yes, Trunk-Vac performs consistently in supine, semi-upright, and fully upright chair positions.

 

13. What clinical treatments can Trunk-Vac be used for?
Trunk-Vac is suitable for a wide range of aerosol-generating and moisture-sensitive dental procedures, including ultrasonic scaling, air polishing, restorative treatments, crown and cavity preparations, and most procedures involving high-speed handpieces or ultrasonic devices.
It is particularly valuable during treatments where effective aerosol control, continuous fluid management, and clear visibility are essential.
